Erica Robbins recently met a single mother with six children who had been living on the streets and helped her find a place to call home for the holidays. They had missed curfew at the shelter and had been kicked out with nowhere to go. She shared their story and community support poured in, which allowed her to get them into an extended stay hotel, as well as food and clothing they needed. Source: WESH
More than 100 families in Atlanta are able to be warm this winter thanks to The Pinky Cole Foundation, The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation and Georgia Power. Keli Thorn was in need of a kidney transplant and her husband, Aaron, stood on a street corner in Hamilton, Ohio, wearing a sign to help her find one. His effort helped spread the word and after a year of searching, Keli found a perfect match. Cheyenne Frappier saw their story on the news and she’s donating her kidney to Keli next month.
