Here are the official rules for the “Q97 Cowpie Concentration” contest (“Contest”), being conducted by KNCQ Q97 (hereafter referred to as “Station”) and its owner Results Radio LLC, starting April 27 2026 and ending 07:59PM May 12, 2026 or when all Rodeo Ticket prizes have been awarded. (“Contest Period”)
The Station may change the dates and/or terms, conditions, or rules of the Contest without prior notice. Any material changes to the Contest or its rules will be broadcast and posted on Q97Country.com (hereafter referred to as “Website”). Station reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or modify the Contest as it deems necessary if it is not capable of completion as planned to include, without limitation, because of infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, legal challenge or human or technical failures of any kind.
Station Judges will be the sole interpreter of Contest rules. All decisions by the Station Judges will be final. Entry into this Contest constitutes agreement by Entrant to abide by these rules.
By participating, Contestant consents to Station contacting them by telephone, email, or text.
By entering, Contestants agree to indemnify this Station and Results Radio LLC from and against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from use of the prize or participation in this Contest.
By entering, Contestants, Semi Finalists, Finalists, and Winners agree to allow use of their entry materials (including submitted image(s), Name, written material, and Voice) in Station on-air, stream, social media, newsletter, website, or other Station publicity platforms.
Listeners of the Station online stream may not be able to participate in or be disadvantaged in participating in certain contests due to delays with the streaming of the broadcast signal. The Station is not responsible for technological errors or failures of the phone, text, internet, email, or computer systems.
No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Contest is void where prohibited by law.
WHO CAN ENTER (ELIGIBILITY)
Contestants and Finalists who do not meet this Contest’s Eligibility requirements will be disqualified, and ineligible to become the contest winner.
The Contest is open to all US citizens who reside fulltime in the State of California and who are age 18 years or older (“Contestant”).
Current or former employees of Results Radio LLC, their immediate family members (including ex-spouses, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, siblings, in-laws), individuals legally residing in the same household as current employees, Company affiliates, agents, successors, assignees, any promotional agency involved with this promotion, current employees of other Radio stations in California and their family members, are NOT eligible to participate or win.
Contestants are required to provide truthful information to the Station on entry and during entire operation of the Contest. Station will disqualify any entry discovered to be based upon false or untruthful information.
Failure to comply with the Rules may result in a Contestant’s disqualification and forfeiture of the Prize. Station, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, and to disqualify that Contestant from entering or winning future contests.
HOW TO ENTER
To enter (“Contestant”), be the correct-numbered texter at 530-244-9736 as announced by the Q97 on-air personality (“Game Host”). Correct-number texter then must immediately answer a voice call-back from the Station, or will be disqualified and the Game Host will move on to the next texter to become the Contestant.
The goal of the game is to match 2 squares that contain identical rodeo tickets. Prior to playing the Contest, Contestant off-air will be asked by the Game Host to select (2) remaining un-matched numbered squares containing rodeo tickets, ranging between 1 to 97. Game Host will allow Contestant to guess squares until choosing two that are un-matched. Then the Contestant and Game Host will prepare to play the contest live on air.
A visual-aid gameboard is posted on Website and updated Monday-Friday evenings following contest plays daily during the Contest Period. Ability to view the gameboard is not required to enter. 1 square will be revealed each weekday morning in the 8am hour.
After each un-matched square is guessed by Contestant, Game Host will reveal the prize contents of that square. If the Contestant guesses two squares that match identical rodeo tickets, Contestant wins that Prize, and the pair of matched squares will be removed from play on the gameboard. Squares may be played again until removed from gameboard.
Some squares contain “cowpies” which are automatic no-matches.
If Contestant guesses two squares which are no-matches, the Contestant will win a Consolation Prize.
Contestant may enter the Contest up to 1 time. More than 1 Contestant per household is eligible to enter. Contestant may win 1x during the Contest. Contestant is defined as the caller who first speaks to the Game Host on phone.

2 matching Thursday tiles: 2 Tickets to the Redding Rodeo on Thursday May 14 Up to Five (5) of these are available. Prize value is $48.00
2 matching Friday tiles: 2 Tickets to the Redding Rodeo on Friday May 15 Up to Five (5) of these are available. Prize value is $60.00
2 matching Saturday tiles: 2 Tickets to the Redding Rodeo on Saturday May 16. Up to Five (5) of these are available. Prize value is $70.00
Consolation Prizes: (Up to 57) 1 Gift Card (no-cash value) for R&R Quality Meats & Seafood Prize value is $25.00
METHOD OF DETERMINING AND CONTACTING FINALIST(s) and WINNER.
There are up to 70 Winners. The odds of winning vary depending on the remaining number of un-matched squares.
Winners must provide a valid daytime phone number to be reached during business hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. In event of Station unable to converse with Winner about arrangements to redeem the Prize, Winner will forfeit.
REDEMPTION OF PRIZE
Winner must appear to present valid, government-issued photo identification and personal social security number together with complete personal residence address, date of birth, and phone number, all such information to exactly match the information as supplied by Contestant’s entry. Winner will sign required affidavits and releases at Station offices or mutually agreed location, or the Prize will be forfeit. Advance appointment at mutually agreed day and time is required. After signing affidavits and releases, the Prize will be awarded to the Winner within 30 days.
Prize cannot be awarded to third parties on behalf of the Winner, or else the Winner forfeits.
Prize is not transferable and may not be substituted for any reason, including but not limited to cancellation or postponement of events, business disruption, or other situations beyond the control of the Station.
Winner will be required to fill out a W-9 form to claim Prize, or else the Winner forfeits. Taxes are not included. Payment of taxes will be the legal responsibility of Winner.
Station offices are closed on Legal Holidays. Prize must be picked up by advance appointment at the offices of Results Radio LLC Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm at:
