
Here’s a classic…on steroids! I call it…
French Onion Sloppy Jose Cansecoes
1 pound ground beef
1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Kosher salt and fresh-ground pepper, to taste
4 hamburger buns
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Caramelize onions in olive oil over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes until golden.
Add ground beef, cook until browned.
Stir in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Simmer for 5-7 minutes until flavors meld.
Toast hamburger buns until golden.
Spoon beef mixture onto buns, top with Swiss cheese.
Optional: broil for 1-2 minutes until cheese melts.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
